About Mahoho: Eons upon eons ago on Planet Keron during its medieval period, he was a warlord loyal to Keron that utilized the secret art of black magic. But, the darkness began to consume his mind, driving him insane. He saw all before him as impure, and so began a crusade against all life, to "cleanse the universe of corruption".
Then, two warriors appeared to challenge his might: Gurere (Keroro's ancestor), a former knight who failed against Mahoho's demonic army, and Kunana (Ze/Dororo's ancestor), a ninja whose entire demon-hunting clan was annihilated by Mahoho himself. Gurere faced Mahoho in combat with his holy sword, and managed to weaken him. Kunana then opened a rift between dimensions, and cast Mahoho into the void, sealing him away and ending his threat.
During his incarceration, Mahoho swore to emerge someday and become an all-powerful being that would eliminate all planets and galaxies. Eons later, in the present day, Mahoho has been reawakened by a swelling of evil energy somewhere in the universe. To be able to feel such power from so far away meant two things: that the seal had weakened, and that what Mahoho felt was a tremendous evil capable of rending entire worlds asunder.
Using his empowered scythe to tear a hole through the weakened seal, he escaped, and began to travel the galaxies in search of this evil power. His ultimate goal: to find the planet with this evil power, absorb that very evil, and become a god to destroy everything.

His name derives from the Japanese word "mahou", which means "magic" or "sorcery". It can also be considered a sort of evil laugh ("mah ha ha" / "ho ho ho").
